Hello, Unity peeps! It's Friday and time for another hop with Friends with Flair! Our summer is flying by, since it's been filled with so many of the girls' softball games. Marika is relaxing (she has officially retired from softball and will now focus on soccer) but this week, it's Mika's turn as her team competes at the USSSA World Series. We've driven out to the ballpark three times this week (48 miles away, one-way) - which doesn't include driving an hour (each way) to the Opening Day Ceremonies. Whew! Tomorrow, we head back for more bracket play.
The point is - I've been busy driving around and watching softball games - I simply have NOT had enough time to craft! Not at all! I'm feeling a bit cranky about that! But I did manage to eke out this card... I felt like doing something simple but cute...
So I can't talk about softball without posting some pictures, because I am having fun learning how to use the camera.
Mika doesn't get to play second very often, but I think she's pretty good at it. This is her "ready" position.
I love it when I get lucky with the action shots! She's been batting left-handed for about a year now - it looks totally natural at this point! As a batter, she loves being able bunt, slap, or pull the ball - it keeps the other team on their toes!
DaddyDude enjoyed being an assistant coach with Marika's All Star team, so he's going to try and assist Mika's team this coming year. Yeah, this is serious travel ball now, but I love the brief moments when you are forced to remember - she is still just a child. :)
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you all can get a little crafty this weekend! I know I need to! :)

what a fun card.
ReplyDeleteThis card just makes you smile. So cute. Love the action shots! Baseball is over for my boy. Now we just have to wait and see what college ball brings.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! Simple elements put together so well! I'll be cropping this weekend...hopefully I'll have something to post soon.
ReplyDeleteAdorable card!
ReplyDeleteCute CAS card! Love the fun sentiment and the doodled border adds to the fun!!
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooo cute!!! I don't think I have that She Art Doodle stamp set, but I am not sure. I have been known to buy duplicates since my craft stuff is not real organized.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand feeling crabby about not having craft time! Between vacation, a flooded basement, throwing a college grad party for my youngest, working, out of town visitors and this weekend we are staying/taking care of my 91 year old MIL, I haven't been able to craft for 2 months!!! BlaaaHHH.
Anyway, it looks like your daughters are keeping busy and having fun!
All of your driving around will pay off in the long run. When they are older (and you are too) you will wonder how you ever did it :-)
What a super cute and fun card! Love that whale!
ReplyDeleteSame here. Taking advantage pf every minute I have to scrap. Nice card.
ReplyDeleteThis is cute and the doodled border is the perfect addition!
