It wasn't freezing, but there was quite a big wind kicking up! After a yummy breakfast (=high cholesterol + high fat), we wandered around The Village for a little while, until a "certain young lady" decided that she wanted to go back to the room right away, because it was too cold for her. We agreed, but only because we figured we'd save money if we stopped shopping (but we did get a great "welcome" bear for our front door - GO BEARS!).

But, of course, as soon as we got back to the room, the girls wanted to go sledding. This was great news, considering we'd bought these super duper sleds built for two. But do you know what happened? After ONE run down each, they decided that they wanted to play on the snow-covered playground instead. So... S. decided to go sledding himself. Doesn't he look totally cool? ;)

And then... eventually... the inevitable snowball fight! Get him, Marika! Get him! (she didn't - she tried really hard, but she didn't - we'll have to work on that!).

Since the girls had gotten their fill of snow early in the day, we decided to try our hand at bowling. S. and I used to bowl during the early days of our courting at Cal, but really - I think the last time we bowled was about 10 years ago! Boy, did it show... I started off great but then ended up throwing a few gutterballs (how embarrassing!) while S. quickly figured out what he was doing wrong and started throwing strikes left and right (what a showoff!). The girls had bumpers to help them and were rolling their balls down the lane. They ended up beating me pretty badly! Good for them!

Apparently, though... rolling those bowling balls down the lane was a lot of work... "someone" got tired pretty quickly... (though she did perk up after getting some M&Ms out of the little vending machines... funny how that happens...)
While the girls power napped in the car, we drove around Big Bear Lake, taking in the gorgeous scenery. Wonder what things look like in the summer...
