Linnecards Card-Ability Challenge #6

It's time for another Card-Ability challenge at the Linnecards blog (http://www.linnecards.com/blog/archives/197). The sketch to use is LC011 and it's a fabuous one - lots of versatility for any occasion!

Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill), patterned paper (Bo Bunny double dot), epoxy stickers (Tile's Play), rub-ons (Heidi Grace - Sweetest Bug),
ink (Cateye chalk ink), flower (Bazzill), glue dots

I had some time recently to make another layout, commemorating Marika's trip to her favorite grocery store, where they have shopping carts perfectly sized for her! She even got to check out and pay (and yes, she did get to keep the change for her piggy bank!).

All of the challenges are inspired by a movie. I submitted two challenges...

2. "A Bug's Life" - put at least 3 "bug" embellishments on a layout.

Linnecards Card-Ability Weekly Challenge #2

It's time for another weekly challenge at Linnecards' Card-Ability blog! Check it out at: http://www.linnecards.com/blog/ and submit your challenge to the gallery!

Supplies: cardstock (Bazzill), patterned papers (Basic Grey - Marrakech), metal strips (Making Memories), vellum sentiment (DCWV), diecut sentiment and blossoms (Quickutz), diecut circles (Sizzix), bottle caps (unknown), and foam tape.

This was my take on the sketch - I felt very retro that day, having the odd urge to use some very old metals. And, as you may well guess, "Daddy Dude" is our nickname for S. Even he needs a card every once in awhile. =)

Come join us at the Card-Ability challenges and have some fun!

Ready for a challenge???

Linnecards is having a card sketch challenge on their blog! You can visit the Linnecards blog by clicking on the banner at the left or by visiting: http://www.linnecards.com/blog/. You can sign up to post challenges and win prizes! Yah!

This week, some the Linnecards Designers created a card based on Sharon's sketch of LC150. Here's mine:

Don't you just love the patterned papers? Those are from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection. Other supplies include: cardstock (Bazzill), Just the Edges (Bazzill), rick rack (Bazzill), quilted heart (chiyogami paper + foam + chipboard), stamps (Basic Grey, My Sentiments Exactly!), polka dot embossing folder (Cuttlebug), ink (Memories), embossing powder (Creative Beginnings).

I have to admit, I really missed playing in our "Fun Room" at home. I'd also been waiting for a chance to try out a "paper quilting" technique - I had purchased a kit (by Hanko Designs) awhile back and finally broke it out. The heart was cut from a Quickutz die, as well as the foam, and then covered with a piece of chiyogami paper in my stash (from Mom - thanks!). It's hard to see the 3-D quality, but it gave the embellishment a nice and puffy "lift". This is a special birthday card for someone turning the big 3-0 in just a few days... (you know who you are - hope you enjoy the card! Happy Birthday!).
