Father's Day Challenge for Craft Lovin Challenge Blog

Hello, hello! It's time to present my first design team project for Craft Lovin Challenge Blog! Come and join us on a blog hop! Tabitha, who owns the site, has her own line of delectable digital papers and stamps - you can check out her creations here. For this month, our challenge theme was "Father's Day". Most of the DT seemed to be making cards, so I challenged myself to make a layout. I'd never worked with digital papers before - they are very easy to print !- but the challenge was how to use them on a layout when you don't have a 12x12 printer (to produce 12x12 paper prints).I decided to create my own sketch, where I could highlight Tabitha's colorful papers against a vintage background.

All patterned papers are from Tabitha's shop, from a collection called "Tools". Since banners are still the rage, I incorporated two different styles and topped it off with my new "Stamp of the Week" from Unity Stamp Co. Good Things Happen in Threes (or Fours) :)

 

DaddyDude and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. While that may seem like a decent span of time, it still amazes me that we were actually "together" for 8 years prior to getting married. So, it's kind of strange - but also pretty cool - to know that we have been "a couple" for more than half our lives. I made him a card using one of the sweetest Unity Stamps. By the way, I'm linking this with Unity's Friends with Flair Friday blog post - not only will you notice that Unity Stamp Co is having yet another fantastic sale but that I was ALSO amazingly lucky and won their grab bag of 100 stamps/sentiments for leaving a comment on their blog. How cool is that? I love grab bags and can't wait to see what happy mail I get! :) Thank you, Unity Stamp Co!!!

By the way, Cropchocolate.com may have stopped selling things, but people have banded together to continue the weekly challenges. These are now called "Cocoa Creations" challenges and can be found here. Challenge #1 was to create a birthday card. I'm also linking this up to Seize the Birthday, since I'm using their sketch. They've changed their rules, so now you have 2 weeks to submit as many birthday cards as you want (feminine OR masculine, your choice). People can then vote for their favorites every other Tuesday.

Perhaps you're wondering what the third and fourth "good" things are. Well... I was invited to join two design teams! I'm really excited about both places because they look like a lot of fun AND they're both "different" kinds of challenge blogs - one is a sketch site (2 Broke Girls Challenges) and the other is a place where I'll be showcasing her lovely digital papers (Craft Lovin Challenge Blog)! So, you'll be hearing a lot about both of these websites over the next 4-6 months - and I hope you'll come and join in on the fun! I'm especially thrilled that Julie Odil, one of my former CC DT members, is also on the Craft Lovin DT - I think she's fabulous! 

 

And hey, don't forget - participating in challenges is a great way to use up your stash. :) You use it up, you have a reason to buy more "stuff". It's a win-win situation, right? ;)
