Thursdays are our "busy" days - Marika goes to the local library for storytime and in the afternoon, we volunteer in Mika's classroom. Today was especially hectic, since we had to pick up Mika's softball uniform in the evening and rush over to the store right away to get the rest of the outfit (undershirt, socks, belt, pants, etc.). Did you know it's really hard to find softball stuff for little girls? Dinner will be late tonight, unfortunately...
But on the bright side, the girls had some leisure time this afternoon to paint. Marika always wants to paint after working in Mika's classroom, because that's what the big kids there do! They each have their own set of paint colors to maximize sibling harmony. Mika got upset at Marika, though, because Marika told her that her (Marika's) painting was more beautiful than hers. Not a very nice little sisterly thing to say...
Here are Marika's pieces of work. The picture on the right is that of "Little Red Hen" and apparently, a LOT of eggs (this is what the kids painted at school today, so she was inspired!).

I'm so glad the girls love to do creative things... which also explains the millions of beads we have lying around the house...
On Friday, we picked up the painting Marika had made while helping me work in Mika's classroom on Thursday. She actually took it upon herself, to do the same painting assignment as the big kids!
In the evening, we were invited over to dinner at our good friends' house. The home-made hamburgers were delicious!
Afterwards, the kids played while we watched the Angels on TV. These target shirts cracked me up!
