So Marika had it all figured out - she wanted to go to Chick-Fil-A (aka "Burger Bear" in this household) for dinner, say hello to "the cow", and then go to Cold Stone for her birthday ice cream. As a finale, we took the girls to get a balloon. One balloon, unfortunately, has already bitten the dust, as "someone" (NOT the birthday girl) decided she had to write her name on it. *sigh*
I meant to post this yesterday, but got distracted. This is Mika's rendition of Grandma (or not, depending on what she decides to say). The text reads: "I love Grandma because Grandma is nice to me and my little sister. I love Marika very very much." This is cute, isn't it? There was one day, though, that I found a card reading, "I don't like Marika." So, we have good days and bad days, just like everybody else! And last but not least, Marika was wonderfully surprised when she received a video call from her Uncle K. & Aunt M. with the kids. A phone call would have been great, but these video calls are absolutely fantastic - I love being able to "see" their whole family, because we don't get together very often at all. This way, we'll be able to see their kids grow up, right before our eyes. Mirei is really cute and those babies are soooo adorable! Thanks for "calling"!
